2.9 is the current P-GRADE Portal release which is available for download and installation. Please read about P-GRADE Portal releases to make sure that this is the version that meets your demands.

P-GRADE Grid Portal is a Web application that is typically offered as a central service for users of existing production grids (or grid based virtual organizations - VO).

If you are member of a production grid then we advice you to ask the manager of your grid to install P-GRADE Portal as a central service.

If you are the manager of a grid then you can install P-GRADE Portal by downloading the installation package from the P-GRADE Portal Sourceforge Project page. The installation package contains the installation manual and the files that are required for the installation.

If you wish to operate a P-GRADE Portal service installation you need to allocate a dedicated server with the following minimum requirements:

HARDWARE

• 1GByte memory
• At least a 2.6GHz Pentium-4 or equivalent
• At least 20GB free space after the OS installation. (depends on the size and applications of the user community)
• A network card with at least 10Mbit is required.

• gLite User Interface when using EGEE job submission. If EGEE job submission isn't used at all, then patches can be used to remove this requirement (patch for v2.4.1, patch for v2.5).

Besides other ports (eg.: for Myproxy, etc.) the following communication ports should be opened on the server:

• The port of the P-GRADE Portal (usually it is 8080, 8443 for https, and 8005 for shutdown)
• GLOBUS_TCP_PORT_RANGE of the LCG setup

To configure P-GRADE Portal without root rights on the server, we need to install our tomcat and condor instances. So please shut down the default tomcat and condor services on the server.
